Picot Ring with Csarite

Picot Ring with Csarite

Regular price $630.00

Picot Ring is named after the Picot stitch in crochet. It is a decorative round stitch usually used on the edging of a pattern. I've created a feminine, romantic, asymmetrical design inspired by this decorative bobble.

This recycled Argentium sterling silver ring is hand carved, cast, and textured. It includes a bead set, ethically sourced, and completely traceable oval brilliant cut 6X4mm Csarite and two 1.5mm - AAA lab created white sapphires. The widest part of the top of the ring is 10mm and the shank is 4mm.

Csarite has the ability to change colors when in different lighting conditions. It changes from green to brown to yellow to pink.

Csarite is ethically mined and locally supported in the Anatolian mountains of Turkey. CSARITE® products have a direct and positive affect on the lives of its miners. All of the employees are housed and fed on site and paid over and above the average earnings for miners in the region. Fully insured, every one of our employees works in safe working conditions which are subject to regular government and environmental inspection.

They also donate food supplies every six months to more than 100 homes in the villages surrounding the mine, their local communities and their schools.

CSARITE® also has a positive impact on its natural surroundings, as their entire underground operations were designed from the outset to allow minimal impact to the surface of the mountains. With fewer trees felled and no major excavations necessary, even the water waste we produce is collected and removed by vehicle to ensure zero soil contamination.

And for the few trees which do require felling, we ensure that they are professionally handled and brought to the ground by the Forestry department, whom we voluntarily fund to plant more than 10 trees for every one cut down.

CSARITE® is a precious gemstone so exceptional, it has been identified as a previously unknown variety of diaspore. Only found in one place in the world, CSARITE® quality Turkish diaspore is meticulously excavated at a height of more than 3,000 feet in the remote foothills of the Anatolian mountains in Turkey.
